Kurt Ranger Collection
Profile
Kurt Ranger (born 1954) has worked as a freelance designer since 1997 and, in addition to various pieces of furniture, has also designed over 130 museum facilities, exhibitions, showrooms and numerous other projects and products. For example, the Visitor Center of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, the FC Bayern Museum in the Allianz Arena in Munich and the Jewish Museum in Göppingen.
"For me, design is not a modern project that begins with the Bauhaus, for example. It is rather a part of human evolution that is already visible in Stone Age artefacts: the effort to create meaningful, functional and beautiful objects is a characteristic of Homo sapiens. Seen in this way, outdoor furniture are tools for relaxing, for spending free time and also for beautifying private life. Perhaps also a statement."
